Trash and Recycling

TRASH COLLECTION

Trash and garbage will be collected twice a week year round. Garbage should be wrapped or put in separate plastic bags and mixed with the trash. When outdoors, trash and garbage must be in suitable containers with lid firmly attached.

 

Trash, garbage, and recycling is all picked up by City Wide Service, Incorporated. They can be reached at (610) 586-1400

 

Building material, automobile parts and truck and auto tires will not be picked up. Wood, tree limbs, bushes, rugs etc., shall be cut into three foot lengths and bundled for pickup. Do not put partially filled metal or plastic paint or oil containers in with the regular trash.

Trash must be placed outside of fences and hedges to be collected

 

 

The following is a list of holidays that will affect your trash schedule (this list is NOT for recycling. Please refer to the table below for the recycling schedule)

The first day is the Holiday and the second day is the revised trash day:

New Year's Day (Jan 1, 2017): Monday - Tuesday

Martin Luther King (Jan 16, 2017): Monday - Tuesday

Good Friday (April 14, 2017): Friday - Tuesday

Primary Election Day (May 16, 2017): Tuesday - Wednesday

Memorial Day (May 29, 2017): Monday - Tuesday

Independence Day (July 4, 2017): Tuesday - Wednesday

Labor Day (September 4, 2017): Monday - Tuesday

General Election Day (Nov 7, 2017): Tuesday - Wednesday

Thanksgiving Day (Nov 23, 2017): Thursday - Monday

Christmas Day (Dec 25, 2017): Monday - Tuesday

If one of these holidays falls on a Monday, Monday's trash will be collected on Tuesday and Tuesday's originally scheduled trash will be collected on Wednesday. If it falls on Thursday, Thursday's will be collected Monday. If it falls on a Friday, Friday's trash will be collected on Tuesday.

 

 

Trash and garbage will be picked up in accordance with the following schedule:

Wards 1, 2, 3, 4 (1-500 Block Stratford Road Odd Side) ----- Regular Pickup - Monday and Thursday

Bulk pickup every Thursday

 

Ward 4 (except 1-500 Block of Stratford Road odd side) and Ward 5 ----- Regular pickup - Tuesday and Friday

Bulk pickup every Friday

**The Friday after Thanksgiving, trash WILL be collected**

PROPER TRASH CONTAINERS WITH LIDS MUST BE USED.

Houses being cleaned out will require a container.

Christmas trees will be collected on the following four (4) Wednesdays, January 4, 11, 18 & 25, 2017.

Residents are reminded that burning of leaves and the sweeping of leaves into the streets is prohibited, except for the collection of leaves from November 1 to November 30.

 

RECYCLING

Aluminum, bimetallic cans and plastic will be picked up in the recycling containers that have been provided by the Township. Trash does not go into these containers. Newspapers may be placed in brown paper bags or tied and bundled. Please follow the recycling schedule below.

The Township has obtained an individual who will recycle electronics. The following dates are when these items can be dropped off.
